Frequently asked questions
Which quality should I choose?
For the web and e-mail 70 to 80 % is usually enough and the difference is hard to see. For printing keep 90 % or more.
Why did my PNG barely shrink?
PNG is a lossless format and the quality slider does not affect it. If you do not need transparency, choose JPG or WebP as the output format.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Your browser processes the photos right on your computer or phone. Not a single image is sent to our server, so you can safely use the tool for private photos too.
Is the tool free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of photos. The only limit is the performance of your device.
Is EXIF data or GPS location kept in the photo?
No. The processed photo contains no metadata (EXIF, GPS location or camera details). The photo is still rotated correctly according to its original orientation.
